PROTECT-CHILD 2nd Plenary in Palermo

On 23–24 June 2025, the PROTECT-CHILD consortium gathered in Palermo, Italy for our second project plenary meeting hosted by ISMETT. The plenary included two days of collaboration, insight, and progress for the project!

The meeting featured:
⚙️ A technical session discussing the PROTECT-CHILD ecosystem, EHDS capsule, genomic tool integrations, and federated computing.
🩺 A clinical session focused on the implementation of the clinical study and a clinical focus group to refine findings for the development of a federated infrastructure for the secure exchange of genomic and healthcare data of transplanted children.
🗓️ Work Package leads and partner representatives sharing updates, progress, and plans on next steps for the project.

This event was a valuable opportunity to align on project progress and strengthen collaboration in PROTECT-CHILD’s aim to improve outcomes and quality of life for children requiring life-saving transplants.
